The Champions League is here again, and i know you guys cant wait to see our guys play tomorrow..
With the United front line firing on all cylinders without the team actually getting out of first gear, the team selection for the visit of Galatasaray seems to be a mouth-watering prospect for the gaffer. The defensive frailties are still visible, but it seems like everyone wants to get in on the scoring action as was proven against Wigan when two debutants got on the score-sheet and Javier Hernandez also found his shooting boots -albeit after missing a penalty.
A good start in the Champions League is imperative. A first win in Europe gives the team the confidence to go on and win the group. SAF’s old adage that ten points is enough no longer holds true for him as he seems determined to win all the games in the group. Last season’s humiliation will not – MUST NOT – be repeated, if United are to be taken seriously in Europe once again.
So, if I were in the pound seat and were selecting the team, I would start with David De Gea. I think De Gea is a better shot stopper than Lindegaard and the only way he is going to gain confidence is by playing games. The more games he plays, the more confident he will become. Rafael has improved at right back, so I see him keeping his place. Rio and Vida seem to be the best option in central defence and young Alex Buttner had a very good debut. That would complete my goalkeeper and back four.
It seems that Carrick is the only option for me in the holding role until Darren Fletcher comes back. So Carrick will play behind Cleverly who will play behind Powell. I think that a European game against Galatasary might provide the young attacker with some insight into what is expected of him in the years to come. These three will be flanked by Nani and Valencia with Robin Van Persie up front. Kagawa can start on the bench with Hernandez, Welbeck, Giggs, Scholes, Evans and Evra.
De Gea-
Rafael-Rio-Vidic-Buttner
Carrick-Cleverley
Valencia- Kagawa-Nani
RVP
So, how would you change this side? Have I got it right or am I totally off the mark?

With Nani's performance against Wigan, he should be out of the starting 11.....
