Finders keepers! Who deserves the number one spot?

Like every club wants, Manchester United have a battle for the number one jersey. Is it Dane Anders Lindegaard or Spaniard David de Gea?Certainly it seems that Sir Alex Ferguson hasn’t made his mind up who he wants between the sticks permanently; or is this his intent to keep both keepers on their toes?At times they have made world class saves while other times you’d think a Sunday League keeper would have saved it! It’s a lot of pressure being number one at one of the biggest football clubs in the world.David de Gea is in poll position at the moment but he must feel the breath of Lindegaard on his neck; he was preferred against Newcastle, but for how long? Then you can look at Tottenham where Brad Friedel lost his place to Hugo Lloris last weekend ending his 310 game run. I don’t think the big American deserved to be dropped but AVB wanted the Frenchman to get Premier League experience stating Europa League football wasn’t enough.I have no doubt that Lloris will be a success and you don’t become a French International if you’re no good. If I was AVB I’d play Friedel as much as I could and that’s purely on form alone.I still find it hard to believe how good he’s playing considering his age. He can play till he’s forty five with the form he’s in.
