Kelechi Iheanacho wants to start his career in England

Nigeria’s U17 FIFA World Cup champions Kelechi Iheanacho has today made it clear that Manchester United, nor any other club have approached him or his agent after his heroics in the tournament. He did however suggest that his dream was to play in England, which is great to know. Iheanacho was named the player of the competition after he played in all seven matches, scored six goals and assisted in seven goals, ending with Nigeria being crowned the champions, which is an achievement, especially for a 17-year-old.

Iheanacho spoke to Vanguard Media Limited in Nigeria:
“Neither Manchester United nor any other club has ever approached me.
“Although, I will like to play professional football, I don’t need to make any mistake in the choice of club, so I haven’t made myself available for any club.
“But now that the tournament is over, my agent and parents have a lot to do in my decision to move ahead in my future career.
“I will prefer to start my professional career in England, than any other country in the world.”
Any team that lands Iheanacho will have a future star in their hands. The rate he can score a goal at his level is just amazing. Obviously he will need some development as all young stars do, but with his dream to come to England and David Moyes always looking for some young talent, there is every possibility that the 17-year-old striker could end up at United.
